Boukje Vastbinder
co-founder
Noorderwind
Boukje studied Product Design at the TUDelft and HvA and worked a few years as a product designer, designing sustainable products like fair trade furniture and clothing. After realizing that it is often not the designer who makes the real decisions on business models, partnerships, production etc. (and therefor on how sustainable a product really is) but the entrepreneur who is the designers client, she decided to expand her expertise and learn more about entrepreneurship.
Nowadays she works under the name Noorderwind which is the 4th company she co-founded and which designs business models, processes, collaborations in design sprints, all with the aim to make the world a better place by making real impact and by providing others with the tools to join them in that endeavor.

How Innovative! What’s Next??
Co-creation with designers can definitely create breakthroughs. But a breakthrough does not make a business. In the Netherlands, we have already known a series of innovation programs in which designers were brought in contact with i.e. farmers. These programs often offer guidance, finances and publicity for the parties working together.
Interactive work session.
