Complex problems need simplified solutions” an idea the drive’s the design and the concepts created by Saif Al Khamissi. Saif Al Khamissi is an industrial designer and a co-founder of Studio Menta. Collaborating with international companies, Saif was able to help to develop a better and meaningful solution from a business perspective as well as sustainable and users view.
In the last two years, Saif joined Eindhoven University of technology as a master student in combination with his work. Passionate about mobility and the user-centred design, he turned his focused to identify and solve the future problems of mobility and create a new meaning of how future society can be better mobile.
This workshop starts with a presentation of Cathalijne Dortmans, Alderman in Helmond, on Brainport Smart District (BSD) and her vision on mobility. Furthermore, the workshop focuses on (un)limited mobility and the future of shared mobility.
The vision in this session is clear: Saif A. Al Khamissi, MSc. and co-founder at Studio Menta, explains how we achieve a safe BSD, with high air quality and enough space for dialogue. Therefore, we need to reject privately owned cars in BSD and stimulate suburban parking via hubs. The transport in the district (and from the hubs) should be provided by an autonomous shuttle bus, (shared) bicycles, cargo bikes, by foot and by electric cars.
